INTERMEDIATE LEARNING: the Theory behind the Therapy

Getting to grips with the ideas behind the movements, in a Journey through the underlying Philosophy of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, the Fourteen Meridians or Energy- Pathways and their access points (tsubos).

You study and practice Oriental Diagnosis in harmony with Western Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, giving you the best of apprentice-style learning combined with state of the art cross-modular educational techniques.

You prepare an Assignment followed up by a Tutorial, followed by supervised practical Application, completed by unsupervised Learning-Treatments in your own time.

Put simply, you do the homework first, discuss theory with your Tutor and other students, apply it under supervision, then reinforce it by learning-treatments in your own time on volunteers - family, friends, fellow-students.

Each set of Assignment, Tutorial, Application and Learning-Treatment adds up to one Module. Progressing through the cycle of 43 Modules you grow steadily more familiar with the workings of the whole bodymind, applying your increasing knowledge to your learning- treatments.

By the end of the cycle you have a grasp of the theory - and may have begun to experience understanding. On completion you qualify for your Intermediate Level Diploma (Int.Dip) and Intermediate Practitioner Membership of the Zen Shiatsu Society IZSS

INTERMEDIATE TIME OPTIONS

If you choose the Weekend Option, your time commitment at school is 12 hours (2 days) a month. With any of the Weekly Options, you come in to school for 6 or 12 hours (Fast-track) a week, afternoons and/or evenings. For either Option add 3 hours weekly on average for assignment preparation and 3 for private practice.

• Monthly Weekends: All day both days based on the 3rd Saturday of the month (except Bank Holiday weekends) in an Ongoing monthly cycle of:

  Two Practical Seminars on Saturday 10am-1pm & 2-5pm.

  Two Tutorials on Sunday 10am-1pm & 2-5pm

GETTING STARTED at INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: Continuous enrolment: register 20 minutes before start-time.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL FEES and PAYMENT OPTIONS

Spread the payments: 12 monthly instalments of £197 by bankers order with an initial payment of £797 OR pay in advance for £2,987 - combining payment for both Starter and Intermediate Level means you pay only the Intermediate fee!

EXTRA SPECIAL OFFER If you combine payment for the Intermediate Level with the Professional Licence you can make even bigger savings and cover your complete training from Starter through Intermediate Level to Professional Licence with a Bankers Order for £257 a month for 18 months with an Initial Payment of £797, or a single advance payment of £4,987.

• AND IF YOU MISS A MODULE they come round again - you catch up on another day, or a weekend, or the next round of the cycle.

The Intermediate Level Monthly Weekend cycle takes about 22 months - think about combining with the Professional Licence course, for 2 weekends a month to get the full qualification in just a couple of years! Intermediate Level Weekly (afternoon/evening) cycles can be completed in under a year.

And with Fast-track - by attending both Tuesday & Thursday, afternoons and evenings two days a week, (2.30 pm to 9.30 pm) - you can complete the Intermediate in six months!
