BASIC LEARNING Learning the Ropes - start anytime!
Learn how to move around, how to give a good shiatsu treatment, how to protect yourself from
needless backpain, and from energy depletion or contamination; to develop sensitivity to
your participant; learn what conditions are best left alone until you have more
experience, and which ones are contra-indicated anyway. Learn the art of gentle healing.

How to move easily into the Structures for giving Shiatsu safely
How to move your client into the Four Positions for receiving Shiatsu

How to protect yourself from energy depletion
Special exercises to help you give shiatsu with ease, grace and style
How to prepare yourself and client for treatment and the effects of treatment
The Seven Principles of Zen Shiatsu
How to assess your client's condition and Shiatsu needs
What conditions to avoid (contra-indications)
and how to deliver mindful shiatsu with compassion, care and competence in the Four Positions for treatment:
utilising Shiatsu techniques:
Palm, thumb and finger pressure
Stretch and compression
Tonification and sedation
By the end of the Basic Shiatsu course you should be confident enough to give
enjoyable treatments. After completing 20 practice-treatment notes (in your own time, on
family, friends or fellow-students) you can take the assessment to qualify for your
Certificate in Practical Shiatsu (CPS)
GETTING STARTED
Just come by and register 15 minutes before start-time (altho' we do
suggest you register in advance for the Intensive Immersion)
If you combine any Basic Course with an Intermediate Course you pay only the Intermediate Course fee.
